The International Christmas Fair in Alanya, which was held for the first time for 2 days, was organized by the Foreigners’ Committee of the Alanya Municipality without any discrimination on language, religious and racial grounds, and was again highly appreciated.
Despite all the negativity in the world, this year at the 10th Christmas Fair in Alanya, the square was again filled with the energy of tolerance and friendship. The people who filled the square applauded to all who contributed to this event, tolerance, especially to the mayor of Alanya Adem Murat Yucel.
 
ALL PEOPLE SPOKE ONLY ABOUT PEACE AND FRIENDSHIP
 
At the 10th International Christmas Fair in Alanya, representatives of the Foreigners’ Committee sent messages of friendship to all the people of the world in German, English and Russian. In his speech, Abdullah Karaoglu, the Chairman of the Foreigners’ Committee, made an opening speech and noted that Alanya is an international city and a model for the whole world with its multi-confessional, multilingual cultural life. “Our city is a model for the whole world thanks to the Mayor Adem Murat Yucel and all the participants”, said Karaoglu.
 
YUCEL: “OUR GOAL IS TO SHOW THE BEST SIDE OF THE TURKISH-ISLAMIC CIVILIZATION”
 
In his opening speech at the 10th International Christmas Fair in Alanya, the mayor of Alanya, Adem Murat Yucel, stated: “In Alanya, as one of the leading tourist centers in the world, there are representatives of more than 82 nationalities, 31.500 local residents and more than 40.000 foreigners. We strive to maintain tolerance in Alanya within the framework of the Turkish-Islamic civilization inherited from our ancestors, which bears the traces of many civilizations, and we will live with this principle forever”.
 
“WE LIVE THE UNITY AND SOLIDARITY THAT WILL BECOME AN EXAMPLE FOR THE WHOLE WORLD”
 
Stressing that they will continue to operate in Alanya in the best possible way without discrimination based on language, religion and race grounds, the Mayor continued, “The Christmas Fair we hold today at this square is an indicator of the value we attach to people. In the framework of understanding and respect that our religious and cultural wealth gives us, we maintain unity and solidarity, which will serve as an example for the whole world at this square. This year, as always, the income from the Christmas Fair will be used in the interests of persons with disabilities. The Fair will be very colorful. I congratulate our foreign friends who are residents of our city with Christmas and wish everyone happiness”.
 
143 STANDS WERE ESTABLISHED, ALL INCOMES WILL BE USED FOR PERSONS WITH DISABILITIES
 
For official speeches, the Mayor Yucel, according to the protocol, visited 143 stands at the square one by one and talked with local and foreign friends. The Mayor Yucel, asking citizens questions, exchanged ideas about municipal services.
 
This year, 143 stands were installed at the square. This time a new arrangement was introduced, to prepare a space reflecting the spirit of Christmas. 20 of the installed stands reflected the Christmas theme and attracted a lot of attention. In this special Christmas corner, souvenirs and food were presented. 143 stands were opened on the square, including 52 stands in the category of gifts, 64 stands in the category of food, 11 stands of associations-members of the Foreigners’ Committee, 1 stand of the sister-city, 12 stands of advertising category and 3 stands of the main sponsors. It was announced that the income of the stands will be used in favor of persons with disabilities, like every year.
 
This year, the sister-city of Alanya, the city of Silute, was also included as a guest at the Christmas Fair Square. Alanya residents showed great interest to the Christmas Fair, which greatly contributed to the promotion of Alanya abroad.
 
NEW COLORS
 
The Christmas Fair lasted 2 days at the square behind the municipality, and there were entertainment, music and dance performances for children, as well as stands with food and drinks. Guests took many photos in front of the Christmas tree, with Santa Claus, at workshops and at the events, and also shared with relatives and on social networks.
