The “International Kızılalan MTB CUP C2 Mountain Bike Race” held in Alanya was organized by the Turkish Cycling Federation and the International Cycling Union (UCI). A total of 114 athletes, including both women and men, participated in the race from 7 countries including Turkey.
The International Kızılalan MTB Cup Races, organized by the Turkish Cycling Federation and the International Cycling Union (UCI), saw the participation of 114 athletes from 7 countries, including Turkey, in both the women’s and men’s categories.
The race took place on a 4-kilometer track where each lap lasted approximately 12 minutes, with men completing 8 laps and women completing 7 laps.
At the end of the race, Alina Sarkulova from Kazakhstan finished first in the women’s category, followed by Tatyana Geneleva from the same country in second place, and Iryna Slobodan from Ukraine in third place. In the men’s category, Dmyrtro Titarenko from Ukraine secured first place, followed by Oleksandr Hudyma, also from Ukraine, in second place, and Amando Martinez Galvan from Mexico in third place.
Emin Müftüoğlu, President of the Turkish Cycling Federation, stated that today the athletes competed in an international race of moderate difficulty called C2.
Highlighting that Alanya is where mountain biking originated in Turkey, Müftüoğlu expressed, “Alanya has a special track for mountain biking. We have prepared the Kızılalan region specifically for this race. Athletes here will gather points for Olympic quotas.”
Müftüoğlu emphasized the support of the local government in Alanya and noted the significant progress made in bicycle tourism every year. He also stressed the importance of the contributions from the Ministry of Tourism and Sports, stating, “The Bicycle Tourism Association has been established. Bicycle-friendly hotels are increasing. Bicycle camps have started in Alanya. So, we are experiencing significant developments in bicycle tourism. We are implementing projects to spread cycling and generate income from sports tourism in our country, and we have started to see the results of this.”
