Applications for the 18th International Alanya Stone Sculpture Symposium, which will be held between November 1-30, which has become traditional by Alanya Municipality, have started. Applications will continue until September 22nd.
International Alanya Stone Sculpture Symposium has been organized by Mimar Sinan Fine Arts University and Alanya Municipality since 2004. The aim of the symposium is to bring qualified contemporary artworks to Alanya. 2023 Stone Sculpture Symposium is dedicated to the 100th anniversary of our Republic.
The jury members, who will convene in September, will determine the artists who are eligible to participate in the symposium after making evaluations among the participants. During the one-month symposium, master artists will sculpt giant marble blocks and make sports-themed street sculptures. The sculpted works will be exhibited on November 30th in the area prepared behind the municipality. Citizens will be able to easily photograph and examine the works of famous sculptors. Artists who want to participate in the symposium can apply by sending an e-mail to (alanyasemp@gmail.com) after filling out the application forms on the official website of Alanya Municipality until September 22.
Alanya Mayor Adem Murat Yücel said in his statement; “The sculptures made within the scope of the international sculpture symposium have transformed our Alanya into an open-air exhibition area and have gained an important place by bringing our people together with this branch of art. This year, we will be happy to see our people in our symposium area throughout November.”
