APRIL 13-26th 2020 – THE 3rd ALANYA INTERNATIONAL CHILDREN FESTIVAL
The National Sovereignty and Children’s Day, gifted to the children of Turkey by Mustafa Kemal Atatürk on the special date – April 23rd, is the only holiday for children celebrated in the world. This is celebrated every year with the enthusiasm it deserves, as the Alanya International Children’s Festival in co-operation with the Directorate of National Education. Within the scope of the festival, different activities are organised for each audience based on the inseparable trio the children – family – teachers. During the 2 week festival, there are children’s book days, children’s theaters, interviews with children’s book writers, school team shows, children’s workshops, seminars and training programs organized by experts in the field for parents and educators. The Alanya International Children’s Festival is the first and only children’s festival in our country with its scope, duration and features. All activities are free of charge
MAY 9 – 10th 2020 – OCEANMAN OPEN WATER SWIMMING RACE
Oceanman, the world’s largest Open Water Swimming Race, was held for the first time ever in Turkey, in the city Alanya, encompassing 18 countries from 4 continents. It will be held again in Alanya on May 9-10th 2020. Swimming around the Alanya Castle is a unique and exciting experience. Swimmers from all over the world will have the chance to meet in Alanya.
JUNE 6-8th 2020 – THE 20th ALANYA INTERNATIONAL TOURISM AND ART FESTIVAL
The International Tourism and Art Festival, which is held every year in the last week of May, is organized with the participation of Alanya’s sister cities from around the world using a different theme each year to promote the cultural values and heritage of Alanya. The festivals held to date have been aimed to highlight the values which make up our rich culture, many are almost forgotten. Within this scope, in the titles of the festivals held so far the cultural values of the Seljuk and Ottoman periods, silkworm, silk cocoons and weaving, local food, nomadic migrations and banana fiber.
In addition to these, Alanya is reflected from past to present in black and white photography exhibitions that have become a tradition in the festival area and are created with the contributions of many Alanya residents. During the festival, sister city delegations and foreign residents of Alanya actively participate, with music and dance performances as well as exhibitions on different subjects being held at the Red Tower Square and the surrounding historical places.
JULY 18-19th 2020 – THE 16th TRADITIONAL GÖKBEL OIL WRESTLING
The Gökbel Oil Wrestling Event, which has been traditional for the last 15 years and is visited by famous wrestlers from all over Turkey, will be held on July 18 – 19th 2020 for its 16th year. Thousands of spectators will experience fun-filled moments for two days at the Gökbel Wrestling Event.
SEPTEMBER 24-27th 2020 – THE 17th ALANYA INTERNATIONAL JAZZ DAYS
The Alanya International Jazz Days, is a high quality musical feast, held in the heart of Alanya’s famous historical Red Tower Square, which dazzles both domestic and foreign tourists with it’s historical aurroundings, offering an electrifying atmosphere enjoyed by all.
OCTOBER 1-4th 2020 – THE TRIATHLON EUROPEAN CUP ALANYA
The 30th Anniversary of Alanya Triathlon will take place on October 1-4th 2020. Thousands of athletes and their families from different countries will be in Alanya to compete together during these dates.
OCTOBER 19-25th 2020 – THE WORLD WINNERS CUP BEACH FOOTBALL
The World Winners Cup was held for the first time in the world in Alanya in 2019. The World Winners Clubs Cup will be held for the second time between October 19-25th 2020 at Alanya’s World-famous Cleopatra Beach. Many women and men from 6 continents will participate in the beach football team competitions which will be broadcast live in many countries.
NOVEMBER 2nd – DECEMBER 1st 2020 – THE ALANYA INTERNATIONAL STONE SCULPTURE SYMPOSIUM
Our goal is to contribute to the promotion of Alanya. The Symposium is organised regularly every year and is a way of both becoming a more modern city by providing quality artworks for Alanya and by installing them for the public to share in the parks and recreational areas, encouraging awareness in art.
DECEMBER 5-6th 2020 – THE 11th ALANYA INTERNATIONAL NEW YEAR FAIR
Alanya is one of the most peaceful, happiest and safest cities in the world where 31.500 foreign residents from 82 nations reside and where various religions, languages and cultures are practiced. In this context, the Alanya Municipality Foreigners Committee organises the Alanya International Christmas Fair every year in the first weekend of December.
The Alanya International Christmas Fair brings together and strengthens the national culture and traditions of foreigners living in Alanya where every year more than 15 thousand visitors come to this event bringing together diverse cultures, food, music, entertainment, national dances and folklore groups.
