19 May Commemoration of Atatürk Youth and Sports Day will be celebrated with great enthusiasm in Alanya as in the whole country. The celebrations will start with an official ceremony in front of the Atatürk Monument and will continue with various activities in the Waterfall Square; The Lantern Procession March and the concert of Yüzyüzeyeyken Konuşuruz will be crowned with a concert.
The 105th anniversary of 19 May 1919, when the Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk went to Samsun and started the national struggle, will be celebrated with enthusiasm in Alanya as in the whole country. On 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk Youth and Sports Day, the enthusiasm of 19 May will peak with the activities to be held in cooperation with Antalya Metropolitan Municipality, Alanya Municipality and Alanya City Council.
WORLD DANCES WILL TAKE THE STAGE ON 18 MAY
Within the scope of the celebrations, dancers from many countries of the world will perform a cortege march from Atatürk Monument to İskele Waterfall Square at 17.00 on Saturday 18 May. Within the scope of the event to be held with the support of Alanya Municipality; A total of one thousand 200 dancers from 23 dance groups from Ukraine, Romania, Bulgaria, Georgia, Kazakhstan and the Republic of Dagestan will take part in the cortege march. After the march, the groups will perform the local dances of their countries on the stage.
DAYTIME CELEBRATIONS AT ISKELE WATERFALL SQUARE
On 19 May, the programme will start with the presentation of a wreath at the Atatürk Monument. After the official ceremony, a youth march will be held to the Waterfall Square accompanied by a marching band. In the waterfall square; speeches will be made on the meaning and importance of the day, poems will be read, a folk dance zeybek show of 100 people by ALKU students will be put on stage, taekwondo and gymnastics shows will take place, yacht trip and water sports shows (jet ski, sup board, diving) will be organised with the promotional event of the sports branches of the District Sports Centre.
LANTERN PROCESSION WILL BE HELD
The Lantern Procession March organised in cooperation with Alanya Municipality and Alanya City Council will be held. The Lantern Procession March, which will start at 20.00 after the meeting in front of Atatürk Monument at 19.30, will continue on Atatürk Street-Bostancıpınarı Street-İskele Pier Street and end behind Alanya City Hall. Citizens will experience the festive enthusiasm accompanied by flags, torches and anthems.
CELEBRATIONS WILL BE CROWNED WITH A CONCERT BY FACE TO FACE TALKERS
At 21.00, the concert of Yüzyüzeyeyken Konuşuruz, one of Turkey’s most popular music groups in recent times, will be held behind Alanya Municipality Palace. With the free concert programme organised by Antalya Metropolitan Municipality and Alanya Municipality, the enthusiasm of May 19 will continue until late.

Alanya Mayor Osman Tarık Özçelik stated that they have prepared a very nice programme for the 19 May Commemoration of Atatürk Youth and Sports Day and said, ‘We will celebrate this meaningful day, which our Great Leader Gazi Mustafa Kemal Atatürk gifted to the Turkish youth, with our young people with enthusiasm.
